Program Description

In the course, students will learn how to build and program robots from scratch. More specifically, students will learn the basics of mechanical engineering by creating the frame of their robot. The basics of software engineering will also be taught; the students will program the robot to accomplish non-trivial tasks like maze navigation.

Once the students have a firm grasp on the core tenants of robotics, they will start to prepare for regional robotics tournaments, including The Ottawa Robotics Competition.

Enrolment

Program requireents: must be in grade 5, 6, 7 or 8 Recommended Preparation: experiment with the Scratch programming environment: the robot used in the program use a Scratch-based programming language
